I’m so honored that you’re thinking about having me as your photographer to document your special day. My name is Hyla, and I have been photographing military ceremonies (promotions, retirements, military balls, and award ceremonies) since the very start of my business in 2016.

Having photographed dozens of military events, I bring with me the knowledge and experience required to work under challenging lighting situations: from very dark rooms, to full mid-day sun, and all the conditions in between, including downpours . What’s equally important: I carry with me a deep sense of appreciation for our service members and their families, and I know how important it is to document these milestones and accomplishment.

My husband served in the Marine Corps for 20 years, and I am proud that I was with him for 18 of those 20 years. Our children are military children. This is why when I photograph a retirement or a promotion ceremony, I always approach the day as if it were my family’s own special day—it is that important to me.

The images that I take for my clients are the kind of images meant to stand the test of time, to capture moments that will become a part of their families’ legacies, and I hope that I’ll have the pleasure of documenting your family’s legacy.
