Throwback Thursday: Katherine's Senior Session
Last year, I had this idea that I wanted to offer longer senior sessions where we would visit multiple locations in Stuttgart to take full advantage of all the beautiful places. I called the session “Model for the Day” and Katherine was my first client for this type of session.
I love, love, love the graffiti area in Bad Cannstatt. In fact, when parents ask me about my favorite locations, the graffiti walls are always up there in my top 5 favorite places.
The second part of Katherine’s session took us across Stuttgart to Herrenberg, where we used the town’s half-timbered homes as the setting for her photos. I used to live in Herrenberg, so I know the town quite well and we were able to quickly visit some of my favorite spots.
Next up: the Herrenberg train station. I was so excited that someone had finally requested a photo session at a train station. It’s perfect, not just for the symbolism of leaving on a journey but also because riding the S-Bahn is a regular part of life here in Stuttgart. We were able to document this part of Katherine’s high school experience and I love the images that came out of this location.
My favorite memory of Katherine’s session is the three of us in front of a car dealership, next to a road in Herrenberg. Katherine was sitting among the lavender bushes, her mom was holding a reflector, and I was standing on a step stool. We had so much laughter during our session, but this one definitely topped it off. I’m pretty sure we made quite a sight, but it was such a fun memory.
I’m going to miss photographing Katherine and her wonderful family, but I’m thankful that we were able to say “see you later” with a fantastic photo session to celebrate her senior year. Wishing you the very best in your next chapter!
Interested in booking a session with me? I would love to hear from you!
